Oakville has a long established reputation for being a premier destination in Canada to live.  Whether to settle down, raise a family or retire, Oakville has a place for everyone: lakefront condos in Bronte Village, stately row houses in downtown Oakville, treelined neighbourhoods with character and heritage homes in Olde Oakville and tightly-knit community neighbourhoods in Burloak and in the Upper Core. Each region in Oakville boasts top-rated public schools like Oakville-Trafalgar Highschool and Iroquois Ridge Highschool and nationally rated private schools such as St. Mildred’s- Lightbourn School, Walden International School, Fern Hill School, Rotherglen School, MacLachlan College and Appleby College.  Oakville is also ideally situated, equidistant between Hamilton and downtown Toronto, 20 minutes to Lester B Pearson International Airport and under 2 hours to Niagara wine country and the U.S. border, all with easy access to highways and public transportation.

As Oakville has evolved through the years, the city has grown in both diversity and development coalescing old and new.  Not only has there been growth and development with new condominiums popping up in the north of Kerr Village and the Upper Core, custom urban infill has taken place from the southeast of Oakville, through to the southwest. New industry and business centres have also taken root while new small businesses, both in retail and hospitality, have also arrived. New Community Centres are opening up, particularly in Olde Oakville on the former hospital site integrating the neighbourhood even further with a skating rink, walking track and fitness and aquatic centers. Our new Oakville-Trafalgar Hospital is located in the Upper Core now bigger and better to serve our region.

Oakville’s palpable sense of community is its cornerstone and is reflected in the many initiatives which support local business and greenspace.
